The beginning of 2026 marked a major turning point for judicial interpreting and translation in the Czech Republic. Due to the expiration of transitional periods under the new legislation (the Act on Court Interpreters and Court Translators), there has been a significant decrease in the number of registered experts in the Ministry of Justice database. This brings new challenges in planning and logistics for companies relying on officially certified documents.
The primary reason for the decline in number of interpreters are increased requirements for professional practice. Key factors include:
In practice, this means a risk of longer delivery times for the B2B sector for specific language combinations, especially for transaction documents, notary deeds, or employment documentation for expats.
The new legislative conditions have also affected our network of collaborators, impacting approximately a quarter of our database in this specific segment. However, thanks to our size and long-term relationships with translators, this fact does not negatively affect our ability to deliver on our promises. We continue to provide language services with the deadlines and quality you are accustomed to.
It is important to note that this situation exclusively concerns court translators with a Czech license. Our much broader database of translators and international partners still includes over 9,500 linguists, allowing us to flexibly meet our customers' needs.
Although fewer linguists can now provide certified services, we remain a stable partner for our customers. Our vendor department constantly monitors the status of our interpreters, actively supports those renewing their licenses, and expands our ranks with new certified experts who meet current legal standards.
Thanks to efficient capacity management, we can:
The situation in the Ministry of Justice register is a challenge for the market, but for our customers, nothing changes. We continue to handle your requirements for court translations and interpreting at the highest standard and without delays.
