Family businesses form the backbone of many economies around the world. They are a symbol of stability and values that endure even in changing times. And the event held on October 16 in the unique setting of the Baťa Villa in Zlín was dedicated specifically to them.
We proudly became the host family for this year’s final Family Business Week Regions event and opened our doors to many family businesses so that they could share experiences, inspiration and the values on which their businesses are built in a safe and open environment.
Participants engaged with far-reaching topics and tackled major challenges faced by family businesses, such as going public, ensuring long-term stability, fostering intergenerational collaboration and resolving ownership conflicts.
Our founder, Zbyněk Zelenka, who still serves as General Manager, and our CEO, Ivo Vedra, actively participated in the second discussion panel and shared their experiences. They spoke candidly about the challenges they have overcome and the lessons they have learned. Namely, that the key to success – and often to overcoming difficult situations – is open and honest communication.
As a family business that has been growing for over 35 years based on collaboration, trust, and respect, we see tremendous value in such gatherings. They help us not only reflect on our own journey but also learn from others. Sharing experiences is what truly moves the entire family business environment forward.
We thank all the participants for an inspiring day full of open conversations. We are honoured to be part of a community that demonstrates the deep significance of uniting family and business.
