We’re helping to promote “The Art of Collaboration”

4. 4. 2017

One of our aims as a translation agency is to make a regular and ongoing contribution to the positive development of the world around us, while promoting the importance of communication. That’s because communication is the key to everything. It’s very closely linked to the art of collaboration, which is at the heart of all worthwhile projects, services, and products. And collaboration often brings greater tolerance and understanding, which is also the message of the One World documentary film festival, taking place under the auspices of the non-profit organization DICE - Development Initiatives for a Common Europe.

This year One World is being held in Prague and 32 other cities, including our own “hometown”, Zlín. As part of the festival, the Alternativa Cultural Institute Zlín will be screening 9 films, from 5 – 8 April 2017. For the complete list, see the festival website, but if titles such as Normal Autistic Film, Death by Design, and Children Online are anything to go by, we can look forward to some highly original viewing.

What were the reasons for the choice of “The Art of Collaboration” as the theme for this year’s festival? The organizers explain on their website:

“The world today is full of conflicts, threats, and bad news. We are confronted by events that are constantly changing, by a stream of information, and that means we are constantly forced to update our own position and define where we stand in relation to others. That’s why, in a turbulent era, One World wants to remind people of the power of collaboration as a potential path of renewal. Collaboration is not a given. It’s an ability that is gradually learned.

That philosophy resonates with our own, because we believe that teamwork and collaboration are the foundation not only of every successful company but also of society as a whole.

That’s why we have chosen to become the main regional partner of One World 2017 in Zlín.

We wish the organizers every success and look forward to seeing them at the festival!
