ISO Audit Successfully Completed. Online Again

26. 3. 2021

Online audits are slowly becoming a tradition in our translation company. Until 2019 audits for ISO 17100 (formerly EN 15038) and ISO 9001 standards were conducted in person in our offices. Well, the times have changed and since last year we do them completely online due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

This form of audit has proven to be problem-free and effective. So, when it came to the ISO audit this year, we decided to choose the online version once again.

This evaluation of our internal processes was undertaken by an auditor from the independent certification company, TÜV Nord. They walked with us through the various areas of our processes over the course of two days and, to our delight, found that we have everything in perfect order.

According to them, nothing was missing at all. Yay!

Actually, one thing was missing after all – the open sandwiches we normally serve during audits happening in person. :-)

What does this mean for our clients, translators and colleagues?

Quality is extremely important for everyone in our translation agency. The audit reaffirmed that we are doing our best to do high-quality work, which is good news for all our business partners and team members:

  • Our clients can rest assured that only experienced linguists work on their projects.
  • Translators see that we are professionals and will continue to provide them with interesting projects over the long term thanks to our satisfied customers.
  • And each member of our internal team knows exactly what to do at any stage of a project thanks to the seamlessly set processes. This gives everyone security at work and leads to well-managed projects.

What are both ISO standards about?

ISO 9001 addresses and evaluates internal processes and measures. This concerns human resource management, document management or risk management systems.

ISO 17100 is purely about the work of translation companies. To obtain the certificate for this standard, it is necessary to meet internationally recognized requirements. These include:

  • The education level of all translators with whom the translation agency cooperates (university education in the field, years of experience, etc.).
  • The quality of the translation process management (processing offers, project work control, invoicing and feedback).
  • The technical equipment of the whole company, including the provision of adequate infrastructure.

We perform these audits according to both standards voluntarily every year. We want to show all our clients and translators that we always pay attention to the quality of our work and that we care about a job well done.

So, get in touch if you are looking for a reliable provider of translation services or are a translator. If quality is as important to you as it is to us, we’ll  be the perfect match!
